THE VETERANS HISTORY PROJECT
|
The Central Florida WW2 Musuem is dedicated to the memory of combatants and
civilians from all countries who experienced World War II, 1939 - 1945. To that end,
we have partnered with the Library of Congress Veterans History Project in order to
collect video- and audio- interviews so that they would be used to educate people
well into the future.
In order to achieve this, we rely on volunteers throughout the world to collect stories
on behalf of the Central Florida WW2 Museum and the Veterans History Project.
All stories will be archived into the Central Florida WW2 Museum and Library of
Congress collections to be made available to researchers and the public.
If you would like to help us preserve the memories of those who experienced first-
hand the greatest conflict in history, please follow the instructions listed below.
Preserving the Past for Our Future
|
Participation in the Veterans History Project is extremely rewarding for interviewees and
interviewers alike. Interviews can range from 20 minutes to several hours and consist
of whatever the interviewee feels comfortable discussing, whether it be life in combat
or life at home.
Interviews can be performed in audio- or video- format and wartime memoirs, diaries, and
photographs can be submitted with the recorded story.
Once an interview is submitted, it is archived into the Museum collections, and a copy is
sent to the Library of Congress Veterans History Project. Your collection will be carefully
stored and maintained in keeping with professional archival standards. This will ensure
that your materials will be preserved for use by generations to come.
