The Ninth Annual VE Day Celebration was held in the historic Castillo de San Marcos, St. Augustine,
Florida. A view of the courtyard inside the fort is pictured below. The Central Florida WW2 Museum
tent is pictured at right. I definitely recommend the VE Day Celebration to those wishing to attend a
World War II living history event.
Paratrooper in jump gear.
As these soldiers walked about the fort, a veteran remarked, "Reminds me of Italy."
A few reenactors pose with a D-Day veteran and his wife. It was a great privilege to meet the veterans
who came out to the event. They are our best and bravest.
Another look.

This gentleman was a glider pilot in World War II. He participated in "Operation Varsity" and shook
hands with General George S. Patton!
